Job summary

A construction and civil engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Safety Officer to assist in developing and implementing safety policies, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, valid safety certifications, and at least 8 years of experience in the construction industry. Strong communication skills and knowledge of ISO standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years working experience in Construction Industry.
  • Relevant experience in civil and building industry preferred.
  • Possess valid MOM registered WSHO, NEA registered ECO and PUB Registered ECMO license.
  • Certificate in BizSafe level 2 Risk Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and programmes.
  • Support the Safety Manager in enforcing safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and programmes
  • Support the Safety Manager in enforcing safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Assist to monitor the effectiveness of safety programmes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards or areas where safety measures can be improved
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of safety inspections and incident reports
  • Ensure proper documentation of compliance with safety regulations and internal safety standards
  • Assist in investigating workplace accidents, document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to prepare reports for management regarding incidents, safety trends and recommendations for improvements
  • Support the development of safety protocols for high-risk activities and work areas
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records including safety logs, accident reports and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Assist in preparing and submitting safety compliance reports to regulatory agencies as required
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Health and safety related disciplines
  • Possess valid MOM registered WSHO, NEA registered ECO and PUB Registered ECMO license
  • Certificate in BizSafe level 2 Risk Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in Construction Industry
  • Relevant experience in civil and building industry preferred
  • Possess class 3 driving license and own a personal vehicle
  • Good communication skills, team player, good knowledge and understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001, good written and spoken English
