Job description
The Role involves high-volume coffee production, stringent adherence to established protocols, and significant emphasis on logistics and consistency across multiple locations, with less focus on creative profile development.
Core Responsibilities
  • High-Volume Production Support:Measure and load green coffee beans into large-scale roasting machines according to a demanding daily production schedule.
    Monitor and operate roasting equipment under direct supervision, primarily executing established, pre-defined roast profiles to ensure consistency across all chain locations.
    Maintain detailed and accurate roasting logs and records
  • Quality Control (QC) & Consistency:Participate in systematic daily quality assurance (cupping) sessions to ensure every batch meets the chain's specific quality standards and flavor profiles.
    Perform basic quality checks, such as color analysis and density checks, and record data for the head roaster or quality control manager.
  • Inventory and Logistics Management:Manage and track high volumes of green coffee inventory, roasted coffee stock, and packaging materials using inventory management systems.
    Efficiently fulfill and prepare large orders for dispatch and shipping to various chain locations, including accurate labeling of bags and boxes.
    Coordinate with the dispatch and supply chain teams to ensure smooth logistics and timely deliveries.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance:Organize, clean, and maintain large-scale roasting equipment and the production facility to adhere to strict food safety (HACCP) and sanitation guidelines.
    Perform routine preventative maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly to management.
  • Operational Support:Adhere strictly to all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.
    Assist with other work-related activities as required by the production manager, such as general support for the production team or assisting in staff training on core coffee knowledge.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: Prior experience in a high-volume food production or warehouse environment is highly valued, along with foundational experience in specialty coffee. Actual roasting experience can be a plus, but adherence to processes is paramount.
  • Physical Stamina: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for long periods and consistently lift heavy weights, often 30kg (66 lbs) or more, from floor level (green coffee bags).
  • Skills:Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure consistency across high volumes.
    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
    Strong team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills to coordinate with a larger production and logistics team.
    Familiarity with inventory management software and data entry for production records.
