Assistant Relationship Manager (Associate, Japanese speaking)

Our client, a Japanese financial institution, is looking for a Japanese-speaking member to join their Client Solutions team. This role is essentially a support role for a team of Relationship Managers (RMs) who manage wealthy clients’ investments, mostly Japanese-speaking clients. The person in this role helps with client service, administrative work, and investment-related tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Assist a team of Relationship Managers in Singapore and Hong Kong on all aspects of client service, operational, administrative and marketing support.
  • Assist the Relationship Managers in managing and monitoring clients' portfolios, including updating of portfolio positions and investment proposals to mainly Japanese-speaking clients/prospects.
  • Receive and execute client orders, including but not limited to securities, bonds, derivatives, loans and FX transactions.
  • Prepare and handle account opening documents in compliance with anti-money laundering requirements.
  • Liaise with the Japan head office and inter offices for any administrative issues.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to process clients’ portfolio transfer instructions involving different asset classes.
  • Ensure trading and settlement setup for the client account before trade.
  • Aiding and advising on security settlement subject matters.
  • Collaborate with internal and external vendors on projects, including system rollouts and enhancements.
  • Arrange and coordinate CPD courses and keep records of CPD hours for the Representatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Preferably completion of CACS 1 & CACS 2.
  • Experienced in receiving and placing orders for different asset classes like shares, bonds, funds and forex from clients and relationship managers.
  • Familiar with client onboarding, KYC, trading services and portfolio support.
  • Proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential for effective communication with Japanese-speaking internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Self-reliant personality with strong client negotiation skills.
  • Cautious and thoughtful when dealing with numbers.
