Overview

Marina Bay Sands is seeking a qualified candidate for an Assistant Project Manager of Project and Construction Management for a new construction project at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The new development, Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort 2 (MBSIR2), is located immediately adjacent to the existing Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. The key elements of the MBSIR2 Project will be a state-of-the-art 15,000-seat arena, an all-suite luxury hotel tower with associated amenities, and MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) space.

Summary

Summary of Job Responsibilities: Reporting to Director and Project Manager level positions. The candidate will be working for the External Works section of the Development and experience in similar large-scale construction projects, including hard and soft landscaping works. This candidate must be comfortable working closely with our internal multi-disciplinary delivery teams in design and project management and consultant teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collate and maintain tracking schedules to ensure the External Works teams\' timely responses to the Main Contractor\'s and Lead Consultant\'s submissions & review process for shop drawings, RFI\'s, material submissions, method statements, ITP\'s, lifting plans, QA and Safety Plans and the like.
  • Co-ordinate amongst team members to ensure all interfaces, including the above documentation, are managed in a timely manner.
  • Track changes to the project that have been generated through the design and construction process.
  • Assist in identifying early warnings and risks to the project, particularly those that attract cost and time implications.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress meeting minutes, including detailed, accurate, timely project reports, work schedules, implementations, and deviations.
  • Attend and minute regularly scheduled design meetings with the contractors and design team to review the following: shop drawing preparation/approval, equipment/material submissions and lead times and required on-site dates.
  • Track design changes both internally with our consultants and externally with the Main Contractor and specialist contractors.
  • Monitor site progress against approved the Master Construction Programme and quality plans and highlight any deviations to the Project team.
  • Monitor, track and assist in closing out non-conformance reports.
  • Monitor construction activities and highlight any safety concerns / violations.
Job Requirements
  • BSc Building/Construction Management/Building Diploma or similar qualifications preferred.
  • 2 years previous External Works experience in a similar field, knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies of benefit.
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different departments, companies and external parties.
  • Familiar with the codes and practices of local Authorities, such as BCA, URA, LTA, PUB, NEA, and N.Parks.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Clear and methodical approach to working in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Experience of Aconex, Sharepoint or other similar web-based systems.
  • Comprehension and understanding of the Building Information Modelling process.
  • Job duties may include travel to off-site locations, fabrication yards, nurseries and the like.
