Job summary

Success Human Resource Centre Pte Ltd is seeking an FPGA engineer to translate requirements into FPGA specs and perform hands-on design, verification, and system integration for mission-critical systems.

You will lead both system engineering and FPGA design tasks, work with Xilinx/Intel platforms, and collaborate with software teams to validate drivers and firmware. Singaporean candidates only, Ang Mo Kio location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years combined experience in systems engineering and FPGA development.
• Familiar with ISO 15288 or similar systems engineering processes.
• Familiar with scripting (Python, Tcl, or Bash) for automation.
• Understanding of V&V methodologies and DSP fundamentals a plus.
• Exposure to safety/security standards (DO-254, IEC 61508, or similar) is advantageous.
• Proficient in VHDL (preferred) or Verilog; strong debugging skills.
• Working knowledge of simulation tools (ModelSim/Questa/Xcelium).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to bridge teams and customers.
• Singaporeans only; willingness to work in Ang Mo Kio.

Responsibilities

• System engineering duties: elicit requirements and define architecture.
• Allocate requirements to hardware, software, and FPGA subsystems; create traceability.
• Develop verification plans and perform trade-off studies for FPGA vs other processors.
• FPGA design duties: code, simulate, synthesize, place-and-route; power analysis.
• Integrate IP cores and design interfaces (PCIe, JESD204B, Ethernet).
• Debug with logical probes, JTAG, and oscilloscopes; drive timing closure.
• Integration & validation: support HIL testing and software-driver validation.
• Produce documentation: requirements, design, verification reports, and user manuals.
• Prepare firmware/software specs from interface requirements.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking FPGA expertise to join our mission-critical engineering team. In this dual-function role, you will translate customer and system-level requirements into detailed FPGA specifications, while also performing hands-on FPGA design, verification, and system-level integration. You will ensure that FPGA-based subsystems function correctly within the larger electronic warfare, avionics, or communication systems

• System Engineering Duties: Elicit, analyze, and manage system-level requirements. Define system architecture and allocate requirements to hardware, software, and FPGA subsystems. Develop system verification plans and traceability matrices. Conduct trade-off studies (performance, power, cost, schedule) for FPGA vs. other processing solutions (DSP, GPU, MCU). Lead design reviews and interface with customers on technical specifications.


• FPGA Design Duties: Architect, code (VHDL/Verilog), simulate, and implement FPGA designs on Xilinx or Intel platforms. Perform synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and power analysis. Develop testbenches and verification environments (including self-checking and coverage-driven verification). Integrate IP cores (third-party or legacy) and design custom interfaces (PCIe, JESD204B, Ethernet, ADC/DAC controllers). Debug FPGA-related system issues using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and JTAG debuggers.


• Integration & Validation: Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and system-level integration. Work alongside software engineers to validate driver and firmware interactions. Generate documentation, requirements specification, design description, verification report, and user manual.


• Prepare comprehensive firmware/software documentation by converting software and interface requirements into clear and concise development specifications.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of combined experience in systems engineering and FPGA development.

• Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals is a plus


• Experience with both system thinking and deep FPGA expertise


• Experience with requirements management tools


• Hands-on experience with Xilinx Vivado / Vitis or Intel Quartus


• Exposure to safety/security standards (DO-254, IEC 61508, or similar) is advantageous


• Proficient in VHDL (preferred) or Verilog


• Working knowledge of simulation tools (ModelSim, Questa, or Xcelium)


• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.


• Excellent communication skills to bridge technical teams and customers.


• Ability to work independently and lead small technical work packages


• Working location is in Ang Mo Kio
