Job description

The Assistant Operations Supervisor will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of road marking projects, ensuring operational efficiency, quality standards, safety compliance, and effective team coordination.

Operational Support
  • Assist in planning and scheduling daily road marking operations, including manpower, equipment, and material allocation.

  • Supervise teams to ensure correct application of thermoplastic and paint markings in accordance with specifications.

  • Monitor site progress and ensure timely completion of work within scheduled deadlines.

  • Coordinate with traffic management teams to maintain safe work zones and minimize public disruption.

Quality Control
  • Ensure all road markings meet specified standards for width, alignment, reflectivity, color, and durability.

  • Conduct visual and instrumental inspections before, during, and after marking activities.

  • Identify and report non-conformities, recommending corrective actions as needed.

Safety and Compliance
  • Enforce compliance with safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and risk assessments.

  • Ensure adherence to environmental and local road authority regulations.

Equipment and Material Management
  • Support maintenance and calibration of marking machines, pre-heaters, compressors, and related tools.

  • Record daily usage of materials (paint, glass beads, thermoplastic, etc.) and monitor stock levels.

  • Assist in preventive maintenance planning to minimize equipment downtime.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily site reports, work progress summaries, timesheets, and material usage records.

  • Assist in preparing completion certificates and project handover documentation.

  • Document and report incidents, delays, or operational challenges to the Operations Supervisor.

Team Coordination
  • Supervise and support crew members to ensure efficient teamwork and high performance.

  • Foster positive working relationships and maintain effective communication within the team.

Qualification
  • Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in road marking or civil/road construction operations.

  • Knowledge of thermoplastic and paint marking processes, equipment, and safety standards.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Familiarity with traffic management and local road authority regulations is a plus.

  • Preferably possess a valid Class 3 driving license.

  • Work Schedule: 6-day work week.
