Job description

The Assistant Nurse Clinician provides clinical leadership, supervision, and support to the nursing team in an AWWA Home. This role ensures safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care for residents, while working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve optimal health outcomes. The Nurse Clinician also plays a key role in mentoring, quality improvement, and fostering a culture of service excellence.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the nursing team in managing clinical emergencies and escalating cases when necessary.
  • Oversee the monitoring of residents’ health conditions, evaluate progress against care plans, and make timely updates to ensure continuity of care.
  • Detect early signs of deterioration in residents’ conditions through appropriate clinical assessments and observations.
  • Supervise and guide the nursing team in providing care in accordance with evidence-based nursing standards and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, nursing protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participate in physicians’ rounds and ensure accurate execution and follow-through of treatment plans.
  • Provide clinical coverage for staff nurses when required.
  • Lead infection prevention and control measures, maintain a safe and hygienic environment, and ensure proper use and care of medical equipment.
  • Offer clinical guidance, mentorship, and supervision to Staff Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Aides, and Healthcare Assistants.
  • Support staff orientation, training, competency assessments, and continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care, monitor residents’ progress, and achieve optimal health outcomes.
  • Conduct clinical audits and provide feedback to monitor nursing performance and the quality of holistic care.
Job Specifications
  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an acute or community hospital setting.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with relevant specialty qualifications.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Committed to service excellence and quality resident care.
  • Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • IT savvy – MS‑Excel‑PowerPoint.
  • Strong communications & inter‑personal relationship skills.
