Position Overview

The Assistant Marketing Communications Manager will develop and lead communications strategies to promote and drive sales of Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford hotels – Rooms, Spa, Weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions), F&B (Food & Beverage). They will also support internal communications and projects for internal stakeholders (engineering, HR, housekeeping, etc.) while keeping in line with brand standards, guidelines and objectives. The role reports to the Director of Marketing Communications and includes mentoring the Marketing Communications Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities
Communications & Media Plan
  • Formulate communications and media calendar for assigned revenue stream and coordinate timely execution with relevant teams.
  • Create positive, relevant news to drive PR value from earned local and global channels.
  • Enhance the brand image of each venue by reviewing all communications materials (sales decks, in‑house collaterals, press materials, ad copies, assets).
  • Direct the creation of compelling content that highlights the unique features and experiences of the hotels, convention centre, dining outlets, and spa.
  • Lead submissions for targeted awards and actively canvass for votes and nominations with relevant stakeholders.
  • Source and collaborate with partners and suppliers to create unique guest experiences and events.
Campaign & Event Management
  • Conceptualise, plan and lead communications campaigns (digital marketing, social media, email marketing, and traditional advertising).
  • Host and engage media, bloggers, content creators and influencers to drive positive coverage and commercial outcomes.
  • Promote hotel‑led events held at the complex to attract desired clientele and meet attendance targets.
  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance; prepare regular reports to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Conduct market research to identify consumer preferences, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Analyse data from various platforms to provide informed proposals that meet commercial and business goals.
  • Review competitors to create in‑depth communications strategies to promote all products and services.
Partner & Industry Engagement
  • Proactively initiate partnerships to drive business synergy and reduce costs.
  • Host prolific partners and industry players for continual engagement while seeking opportunities for mutually‑beneficial collaborations.
  • Seek relevant brands for co‑branded guest experiences.
  • Manage agencies, vendors and partners.
Budgeting
  • Monitor and maintain budget for dedicated communications campaigns, ensuring forecast accuracy.
  • Gather scope and costs for budgeted items related to marketing communications.
  • Allocate the communications budget effectively to achieve desired results and a strong return on investment.
  • Plan and prepare for annual budget submission and presentation.
Job Requirements
  • 5–7 years’ experience in marketing and public relations within travel, hospitality, agency or marketing roles.
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism or Marketing.
  • Excellent English communication skills (a second language is a plus).
