Job summary

A leading marine service provider in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Marine Surveyor. The role involves conducting surveys on ships and ensuring compliance with various standards. Candidates with a Nitec/ITE in Marine or a relevant diploma are preferred. Experience onboard vessels is an advantage. This position requires adaptability to irregular hours due to ships' schedules, and successful candidates will undergo a six-month probation. Opportunities for overseas travel may also arise.

Qualifications

  • Nitec/ITE related in Marine or Diploma in Nautical, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering.
  • Experience onboard vessel is an advantage.

Job description

Position title : Assistant Marine Surveyor

Working Location: Islandwide and in anchorages (On ship)

Working Days: 5 Day A Week

Working hours : 0830 hrs to 1730 hrs (Prepared to work irregular hours as well as on weekends and Public Holidays) due to ships’ schedule

Job Scope
  • To attend / carry out various types of survey on board ships and sites on cargo, cargo measuring equipment and marine related activities.
  • To perform marine survey aboard vessels and cargo inspection on sites in order to assess and report on their condition for insurance claim.
  • To verify the equipment onboard vessel to ensure compliance with various standards or specifications.
Job Requirement
  • Nitec/ITE related in Marine or Diploma in Nautical, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering or Marine related from a local polytechnic/private institution.
  • Experience onboard vessel will be an advantage such as Ex-Sea farers, Ex-Navy, Ex-PCG (police coast guard) and Ex-SCDF (marine)
  • Prepare to work at irregular hours as well as on weekends and Public Holidays) due to ships’ schedule.
  • Opportunity to travel overseas upon satisfactorily performance and skill.
  • Successful candidate will be on six months' probation.
