COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as the first art museum in Singapore. Also known as SAM, we present contemporary art from a Southeast Asian perspective for artists, art lovers and the art curious in multiple venues across the island, including a new venue in the historic port area of Tanjong Pagar.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Board Governance
  • Coordinate Board and Board Committee Meetings, including meeting scheduling, collation of agenda, dissemination of materials and drafting of minutes
  • Assist with board renewals and request for periodic submissions from the Board as necessary
  • Support the coordination of all Board-related events, including Board trips, periodic social meetings and attendance at official SAM events
Governance
  • Point of contact between SAM and relevant government agencies (e.g. MCCY Charities Unit)
  • Liaise with Corporate Secretary in the various submissions to government agencies (update of members and Board members to ACRA, annual filing to ACRA, AGM, etc) and coordinate information for Directors' Resolutions
  • Liaise with SAM members for annual AGM process and submission
  • Coordinate with Finance dept in annual audits and submission of Annual Reports and Financial Reports to MCCY
  • Manage the budget for Board Governance matters
Strategy
Strategic Planning
  • Support the development of whole‑of‑organisation strategies to achieve organisational goals
  • Perform local and international industry scans and analysis, benchmarking and comparative analysis to identify areas that may have impact SAM or the visual arts ecosystem
  • Work closely with teams to develop departmental workplans and KPIs as part of the annual budget exercise, which includes collecting and monitoring corporate KPIs Support the development of SAM's social impact measurements, including research for benchmarking, development of methodologies, tracking of data and assessment of performance
  • Manage relationship with strategic partners including MCCY, NAC and other relevant government agencies
  • Assist in any other strategic development initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the arts, government, strategy, planning or other related fields
  • Possess excellent written skills, essential for preparing minute documentation, reports and presentations
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and persuasive manner
  • Ability to prepare analysis, assessments and presentations in a clear and concise mannerStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate workstreams to secure aligned outcomes effectively across teams
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
