Job summary

A significant player in aviation maintenance in Singapore is looking for a candidate to join their Industrial Relations team. This role focuses on building strong relationships with union leaders and ensuring effective industrial relations. Ideal candidates should have a good degree, at least 5 years of HR experience, and familiarity with local labor legislation. This position may be classified as Assistant Manager or Senior Executive based on applicant's qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' HR experience, ideally in a unionised environment.
  • Familiarity with local labour legislation such as Employment Act and Industrial Relations Act.
  • Experience in Union negotiations preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The successful candidate will be part of the Industrial Relations team in SIA Engineering Company Human Resources Division. The role will be integral in promoting and building good industrial relations by working closely with union leaders, management and employees. The goal is to achieve positive outcomes for both the Company and our employees in the spirit of effective and harmonious industrial relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with union leaders to build strong and effective Union-Management relations and support for Company initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure union-related issues are resolved amicably and in timely manner at lowest possible level as appropriate
  • Engage with unions on Collective Agreements, Profit Sharing Bonus, Service Increment, Productivity Initiatives, etc. in alignment with Company’s business objectives.
  • Preparation of material for management briefings, mandate papers and union negotiations
  • Analysis of statistics and market benchmark data to ensure robust formulation and execution of HR policies with union insights
  • Support in Disciplinary Inquiry (DI) cases
Requirements
  • Singapore Citizen
  • A good University degree, preferably with at least 5 years’ HR experience, ideally in a unionised environment
  • Familiarity with local labour legislation such as Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act and Trade Unions Act
  • Preference for someone with experience in Union negotiations or discussions
  • Strong analytical skills and good with numbers
  • Good inter-personal and networking skills
  • Proactive, resourceful and independent
