Job summary

A reputable laboratory services provider in Singapore is seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to oversee QA activities across multiple laboratory sites. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science and have 2-5 years of experience in a core laboratory environment. Responsibilities include conducting internal QC reviews, preparing EQAS reports, and guiding laboratory staff on QA standards. Strong understanding of QA principles and basic knowledge of biostatistics are essential. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to quality enhancement within laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a core laboratory environment.
• Experience with medical laboratory regulatory requirements and accreditation processes is an advantage.

Job description

Job Scope

• Support the Laboratory Services Lead in overseeing Quality Assurance (QA) activities across multiple laboratory sites.
• Conduct timely reviews of monthly internal QC trends.
• Prepare and submit EQAS reports, including investigation and follow-up on any outliers.
• Provide guidance and training to laboratory staff on QA standards and best practices.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs).
• Assist in the evaluation and verification of new instruments and equipment.
• Coordinate and maintain documentation for annual staff proficiency testing.
• Track and monitor laboratory KPIs.
• Support the Regulatory and Compliance function as needed.
• Manage corporate pass matters and handle regulatory submissions (e.g., customs, licensing).
• Organise and facilitate accreditation activities and internal/external audits (ISO 15189:2020), including follow-up on corrective actions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related discipline.
• ASCP certification is an advantage.
• 2–5 years of experience in a core laboratory environment
• Experience with medical laboratory regulatory requirements and accreditation processes is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of QA principles and laboratory operations.
• Basic knowledge of biostatistics is essential.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is required; training will be provided.
