About AWWA

AWWA is a leading social service agency in Singapore, dedicated to empowering people of all ages and abilities to live independently with dignity and purpose. Through our network of service centres, we serve children and youth with additional needs, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities, fostering inclusion and building strong, connected communities.

At the heart of AWWA’s Corporate Services ethos is our dedication to delivering exceptional service marked by care, quality, and professionalism, ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for all who engage with us.

About the Role

As part of AWWA’s Communications team, you will shape and share the organisation’s narrative — telling powerful stories of inclusion, empowerment, and impact. You will develop and execute strategic communications plans to strengthen AWWA’s reputation, engage diverse stakeholders, and build public understanding of our mission to support our clients — children, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

One of your key focus will be to lead internal communications that strengthen staff engagement, culture, and alignment across AWWA’s diverse programmes and services. You will design and deliver strategies that foster a sense of belonging, purpose, and shared identity among staff, ensuring that every employee understands and feels connected to AWWA’s mission.

Beyond internal communications, you will also support AWWA’s strategic external communications to enhance the organisation’s reputation and visibility, engage partners and donors, and build greater public understanding of AWWA’s impact in the community.

You will work across internal and external communications, media relations, social media, events, and issues management, ensuring cohesive and authentic storytelling aligned with AWWA’s mission and values.

Responsibilities
Internal Communications
  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies that enhance staff engagement, culture, and alignment with AWWA’s mission and values.
  • Lead the creation of clear and inspiring communications from leadership, including updates, speeches, and internal campaigns.
  • Strengthen internal messaging frameworks and editorial planning across service divisions.
  • Manage internal channels (intranet, newsletters, internal events) to ensure timely, consistent, and motivating communication.
  • Collaborate with HR, Corporate Services, and programme teams to communicate organisational priorities, milestones, and change initiatives effectively.
  • Develop creative internal storytelling campaigns that highlight staff contributions, organisational values, and impact stories.
  • Support the planning and execution of staff engagement events and initiatives, such as townhalls.
Strategic Communications & Narrative Building
  • Shape and articulate compelling organisational narratives that highlight AWWA’s mission, programmes, and impact.
  • Develop and deliver integrated communications plans to enhance awareness and stakeholder engagement across key audiences.
  • Support leadership messaging through speechwriting, talking points, and campaign positioning aligned with AWWA’s brand voice.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align content across channels and ensure message coherence.
  • Work with agency and vendor partners to deliver effective communication campaigns and creative materials.
Media Relations & Reputation Management
  • Lead and implement proactive media engagement strategies to build AWWA’s visibility and credibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with journalists and media outlets across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
  • Coordinate with appointed Public Relations agencies to ensure consistent messaging, measurable coverage, and timely response to media opportunities.
  • Anticipate and manage potential issues, providing communications counsel to safeguard AWWA’s reputation and maintain public trust.
Digital, Social Media & Content Management
  • Develop and oversee content strategies for AWWA’s owned channels (website, newsletters, social media) to build brand visibility and community engagement.
  • Integrate storytelling, data insights, and multimedia formats to drive reach and resonance across platforms.
  • Use analytics to track campaign performance and refine digital strategies for stronger engagement and conversion.
Leadership
  • Provide guidance or mentorship to junior team members to strengthen execution and professional growth.

The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is needed.

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
  • Proven experience in media relations, campaign management, and stakeholder communications.
