Summary

The objective of this position is:
a) to manage and execute day‑to‑day HR Operations activities across assigned Asia markets ensuring service excellence, compliance and accuracy.
b) to support process improvements, digitalisation initiatives and cross‑functional collaboration in line with Lidl & Kaufland Asia’s HR strategy.
c) to act as the deputy to the Senior Manager, HR Operations, supporting budgeting, vendor governance, payroll coordination and operational continuity.

What you'll do
  • Manage the day‑to‑day HR operations for assigned markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal policies and adherence to local employment legislation.
  • Coordinate and validate monthly payroll cycles across multiple countries, including preparation of payroll inputs, reviewing payroll reports, addressing variances and ensuring timely submission to vendors and Finance.
  • Support annual budgeting and cost tracking, including staff cost projections, vendor cost management, variance analysis and collaboration with relevant departments on ac‑cruals and reporting.
  • Manage HR Operations vendors, including payroll vendors, EOR vendors and other outsourced service partners, ensuring SLA performance, issue resolution and contract adherence.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (HRBPs, C&B, Finance, Legal, IT, Travel and global HR functions) to address operational queries, resolve issues and implement changes.
  • Drive process improvements, digitalization and standardization and support HR initiatives such as case management tools, SuccessFactors Employee Central and TOM implementation.
  • Ensure compliance and governance across HR Operations processes, maintaining strong documentation controls, SOPs and audit readiness.
  • Serve as the operational deputy for the Senior Manager, representing the function, managing escalations and ensuring operational continuity.
What you'll need
  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management or related disciplines, with least 5‑7 years of solid regional experience in HR operations and payroll, preferably with multicountry exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, payroll cycles, employment legislation (Singapore, Hong Kong, or other Asian markets), and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in payroll validation, vendor management and HR system administration.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage complex data and multiple priorities in a face‑paced environment.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, manpower cost tracking and operational reporting is highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across cultures, internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Independent, accountable and self‑motivated, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to support both BAU operations and broader regional HR objectives.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to adapt to change, embrace innovation, and drive continuous improvement.
