Job summary

ESTEEMED SEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller / Financial Controller to support the Group CFO in overseeing finance functions, ensuring strong governance and accurate reporting. The role combines hands-on leadership with business partnering to support the Group's growth.

The position emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning and strategic initiatives, with a focus on compliance and internal controls within a fast-paced environment in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/ACCA preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in financial close, audits and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Group's finance operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable and treasury.
• Lead monthly and year-end closing processes and ensure timely, accurate management reporting.
• Review financial results, reconciliations and variance analysis, providing meaningful commentary to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax, GST/VAT and other statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulators.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial policies and governance processes, driving continuous improvement.
• Lead or support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning and financial projections.
• Prepare and review Front Office P&L and provide analysis on business performance.
• Partner with business units and senior management on financial planning, cost optimisation and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor key financial metrics, identifying risks and opportunities for management attention.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a strong performance culture.
• Partner with stakeholders across functions to support business objectives.
• Support the Group CFO on strategic initiatives and finance transformation.

Financial Operations & Reporting

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant experience, ideally in financial services or a regulated environment, with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in financial close, audits and internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to translate financial information into actionable insights.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
