Assistant Finance Manager
Overview
The Role: Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be assisting the Finance Manager in managing a spectrum of finance-related activities that include financial accounting and reporting, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management, audit and tax matters.
Responsibilities
- Accounting
- Responsible for timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, ensure full compliance with Singapore FRS and Group policy.
- Perform operational accounting duties such as prepare month-end journals, review and approve entries/journals prepared by Accountant and Accounts Executives.
- Ensure general ledgers are reconciled, maintained and cleared. Balance sheet items are reconciled.
- Oversee intercompany transactions and ensure reconciled.
- Review deliverables of the AP & AR functions and ensure internal controls.
- Provide guidance to junior members.
- Manage the revenue recognition and internal Project Management System:
- Manage the entire project life-cycle in accordance with FRS and Group Policy - open project codes, monthly project monitoring and close project codes.
- Work closely with project teams to input and validate data entered into the internal Project Management system.
- Support project teams in the queries and issues from accounting perspective.
- Review monthly project percentage of completion and work-in-progress and prepare the revenue adjustments in accordance with FRS and Group Policy.
- Maintain and track proper revenue related documents such as contracts.
Financial and Management Reporting- Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial and management reports, analysis and commentary on major variances.
Audit and Tax- Liaise with auditors for year-end audits and prepare the statutory accounts and schedules.
- Liaise with tax agent on corporate income tax and prepare the tax schedules.
- Provide support in managing tax regulatory filing requirements – review GST return, monitor withholding tax deductions for overseas vendors and prepare the associated withholding tax filings.
Compliance and Controls- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, internal policies and procedures and external requirements.
- Ensure compliance for internal audits in the internal controls and processes of the Finance function.
Others- Day-to-day operations in the Finance Department.
- Prepare and submit government statistical surveys / reports.
- Other ad-hoc duties as and when assigned.
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and processing of employee payroll.
