The principal accountabilities are as below:

• Underwrite new A&H business in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and objectives.
• Liaising, advising and servicing (Including rapport building) intermediaries/insureds on A&H insurance matters.
• Reviewing renewal policies with claims record.
• Monitor and review own portfolio to ensure profitable growth in line with company targets.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior underwriters and administrative assistants.
• Provide support to Team Lead Underwriter and other underwriters as required.
• Any other responsibilities as assigned by Team Lead Underwriter and/or Department Head.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of underwriting experience in A&H insurance
• Complete MAS-required qualifications to provide advice on insurance matters (CGI/HI qualifications and any other relevant insurance equivalent)
• Good technical knowledge of A&H underwriting factors
• Good communication skill, tact and patience needed in handling clients for this very competitive class of business
• Able to multi-task, and is a team player, conscientious, tactful and willing to learn new skills
• Able to work independently and interact with different levels of customers
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
