Job description:

Job Purpose

The Assistant Engineer (AE) will perform preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM) and fault attendance tasks for the equipment within IFM purview, in accordance with quality and safety standards. To ensure works carried out comply to Work Instructions (WI), Work Records (WR) and maintenance manuals. The AE will also investigate incident/ accidents, carry out checks to ensure safety aspects comply to SMRT Work Safety Manual and guarantee quality assurance in accordance with Code of Practise or SMRT Quality Procedures (QP).

Responsibilities
  • To lead a team to perform routine inspections of MRT structures, including stations, depots, viaducts and tunnels
  • To lead a team to carry out preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance works. Typical maintenance work include concrete repair, leakage repair, servicing of plumbing systems, scaffolding erections. Other ad-hoc work may be assigned
  • Arrange, coordinate and supervise outsourced preventive and maintenance work by outsourced contractors
  • Attend to faults / complaints and carry out investigation and rectification works
  • Perform the role of track PIC (Person-In-Charge) and PM (Possession Master) duties to ensure the safety of the work parties on MRT tracks
  • Record maintenance work both on papers and computer systems (e.g. SAP/Maximo)
  • Attend inspection for taking-over of new buildings & infrastructures
  • Drive vehicles and operate specialized vehicles such as boom lifts
  • Take custody of tools and equipment
Qualifications & Work Experience

Qualifications and work experience include:

  • Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant experience
  • Class 3 driving licence
