Job summary

A public transport operator in Singapore is seeking to hire a team leader for mechanical services maintenance. You will supervise contractors and lead a team of technicians to ensure the quality of services delivered. The ideal candidate should possess a relevant diploma and have experience in a railway environment, with strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work outside standard hours.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technicians in providing mechanical services maintenance and repairs in supporting station operations.
  • Supervise the contractors and ensure that they deliver the service according to the agreement.
  • Participate in the investigation of major fault or failure of mechanical services or equipment.
  • Assist in the developing and implementation of failure management and emergency response procedures and processes.
  • Assist in conducting training of in-house staff and contractors.
  • Plan, supervise, inspect, audit and certify works carried out by the contractors.
  • Check and monitor that all proper practices (such as fault reporting, response to corrective maintenance, safety procedure, etc.) required by the Engineer are carried out by contractors.
  • Inspect and audit contractors’ quality of works, level of manpower, spares, tools and equipment.
  • Monitor performance of outsourced contractors to ensure conformance to quality and proper documentation.
  • Perform Duty Officer duties in accordance with duty roster.
  • Assist in the review of Work instruction process for continuous improvement and updating.
  • Track logistic support in terms of spares, purchase requisition, claims settlement, liquidated damages, cost adjustments, administration of assets and budget, etc of the maintenance contractors and also support of his own team in mechanical system maintenance and repairs
  • Assist in field test and system implementation of modification works initiated internally or by LTA.
  • Assist engineer in the investigation of major fault or failure of Mechanical services, lifts and escalators, and develop preventive actions.
  • Participate in utilities conservation initiatives.
  • Supervise inhouse minor work technicians to carry out building minor works as instructed by superior.
  • Ensure compliance to cyber security.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by superior.
Requirements
  • A recognised diploma / Higher NITEC in any M&E or Building Services Engineering discipline.
  • Preferably with some relevant experience in building and M&E services maintenance in a railway environment.
  • Possess good communication skills, leadership skills and computer literate.
