Job summary:
An Electrical Control System Specialist designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots automated electrical systems, focusing on efficiency, safety, and performance in industrial settings using sensors, PLCs, and motion control for processes like robotics or manufacturing. They are experts in electrical schematics, diagnosing logical I/O issues, tuning motor drives, and ensuring compliance with standards, bridging electrical engineering with automation technology.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Creating electrical control system designs, producing wiring diagrams, and selecting components for industrial machinery.
Installation & Commissioning: Setting up, testing, and bringing new automated systems online.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, performing I/O analysis, and conducting system upgrades.
Motion Control: Configuring and tuning servo/stepper motors and related control systems.
Documentation: Maintaining detailed technical documentation, including schematics and compliance files.
Collaboration: Working with mechanical, software, and operations teams to improve system reliability.
Requirements:
Minimum Nitec in Electrical Technology (Power & Control) or equivalent
Strong grasp of circuits, schematics, and electrical safety codes.
Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, and industrial control principles.
Ability to read blueprints, use test equipment, and perform logical analysis.
Proficient in MS Office (e.g Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
