Job summary

A construction and engineering firm is looking for an Assistant Electrical Engineer in Singapore. This role involves supporting the Electrical Engineer in planning, execution, and maintenance of electrical works. The ideal candidate will assist in design, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with local standards and safety regulations. A strong foundation in electrical engineering and some relevant experience is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in electrical works (construction/M&E/maintenance preferred).
• Basic knowledge of electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Monitor site progress to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepare daily site reports and progress reports.

Job Summary

The Assistant Electrical Engineer supports the Electrical Engineer in planning, execution, supervision, and maintenance of electrical works for projects. The role involves site coordination, technical support, compliance with safety regulations, and assisting in testing, commissioning, and documentation of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment

• Support project execution by coordinating with site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions

• Monitor site progress to ensure works are carried out according to drawings, specifications, and schedule

• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with Singapore standards, codes of practice, and safety regulations

• Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults and implementing corrective actions

• Prepare daily site reports, progress reports, and as-built drawings

• Support testing & commissioning activities and handover documentation

• Ensure proper implementation of workplace safety and health (WSH) requirements

• Liaise with consultants, clients, and authorities when required

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Electrical Engineer or Project Manager

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in electrical works (construction / M&E / maintenance preferred)

• Basic knowledge of electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications

• Familiar with Singapore electrical codes, SS standards, and WSH regulations

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage
