Job summary

Job Description
1. E&M Works Coordination
  • Assist in managing all E&M systems related to tunnel works, including:

    • Power supply and distribution

    • Tunnel ventilation systems

    • Lighting systems

    • Fire detection and fire protection systems

    • SCADA, communication, and monitoring systems

    • Drainage and pumping systems

  • Coordinate E&M activities with civil, architectural, and track works to ensure smooth interface management.

2. Design & Technical Support
  • Review E&M design drawings, specifications, and method statements.

  • Provide technical input and resolve E&M-related design and construction issues.

  • Assist in preparation and submission of technical documents to consultants and authorities.

3. Site Supervision & Progress Monitoring
  • Supervise E&M installation works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings and standards.

  • Monitor construction progress and support the E&M Manager in achieving project milestones.

  • Identify potential delays and assist in implementing corrective actions.

4. Contractor & Subcontractor Management
  • Coordinate and supervise E&M subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure subcontractor works comply with safety, quality, and contractual requirements.

  • Attend coordination meetings and provide updates on E&M progress and issues.

5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
  • Assist in planning and execution of testing and commissioning activities for tunnel E&M systems.

  • Ensure proper documentation, test results, and as-built drawings are prepared.

  • Support system handover to the client and operations team.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure E&M works comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and statutory regulations.

  • Assist in implementation of safety plans and risk assessments for E&M activities.

  • Participate in inspections, audits, and authority site visits.

7. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare progress reports, technical reports, and E&M-related correspondence.

Maintain proper records of drawings, inspections, tests, and approvals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 - 10 of relevant E&M experience in tunnel construction projects
  • Experience in railway, metro, or road tunnel projects is highly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of tunnel E&M systems and construction practices.

  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements.

  • Ability to review drawings and technical documents.

  • Proficient in MS Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage.

  • Able to work shift work, 12 hours shift, 6-day work week
