Job description
What the role is:

The Anti‑Money Laundering / Countering the Financing of Terrorism Division (ACD) is responsible for the implementation of the anti‑money laundering / countering the financing of terrorism / countering proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) regulatory regime for sectors regulated by the Ministry of Law (MinLaw), namely the precious stones and precious metals dealers (PSMDs), law practice entities, pawnbrokers and moneylenders.

You will be part of a dynamic team supervising PSMDs, law practice entities, pawnbrokers and moneylenders for AML/CFT/CPF compliance and handling Financial Action Task Force’s mutual evaluation (FATF ME) related matters.

What you will be working on:
  • Conduct policy reviews and formulate and implement AML/CFT/CPF legislation, policy and guidance which are in line with international standards
  • Perform AML/CFT/CPF policy guidance role to the Law Society of Singapore (“LawSoc”), a self‑regulating body (“SRB”) statutorily designated
  • Support ACD’s inter‑agency and external meetings on AML/CFT/CPF matters related to the four sectors
  • Network and build relations at working level within MinLaw and with other agencies and AML/CFT/CPF regulators from other jurisdictions to support engagement outcomes
  • Conduct AML/CFT/CPF surveillance, data analysis and research for the 4 sectors
  • Lead, plan and organise events or activities that increase AML/CFT/CPF capabilities for the 4 sectors
  • Develop AML/CFT/CPF materials to increase ML/TF/PF risk awareness and understanding of AML/CFT/CPF requirements for the 4 sectors
  • Be responsible for cybersecurity and data protection matters of the PSMD sector

  • Prior experience in policy review and formulation, AML/CFT/CPF or FATF work, or legal qualifications would be an advantage

Successful candidates will be appointed on a 1‑year contract, subject to annual renewal.
