Job summary

SingCERT seeks a strategic, motivated Assistant Director to lead a team in detecting, assessing, and responding to cyber threats affecting businesses and the public in Singapore. You will set strategic direction and represent Singapore in local and global cybersecurity engagements.

This is a mission-driven role with opportunities for training to upskill and stay current in cybersecurity, working across incident management, threat mitigation, and public guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in IT infrastructure or cybersecurity with strong incident management.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in incident response (SOC/CIRT/CSIRT/CERT).
• Knowledge of operating systems, networks, security monitoring, logs, and forensics.
• Experience handling end-to-end cyber incidents and threat response.
• Good English communication and presentation skills; strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Drive SingCERT operations to investigate and respond to cyber incidents and threats.
• Engage cross-industry stakeholders during incident handling and remediation.
• Shape public and crisis communications during major cyber incidents.
• Identify process/tool improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Represent SingCERT in regional and international cybersecurity forums.
• Strengthen ties with the global CERT community through outreach and partnerships.
• Lead thought leadership and contribute to national cyber response policy discussions.
• Drive innovation by testing new ideas and turning them into scalable outcomes.
• Support capacity building through training, exercises, and knowledge sharing.
