Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Director for the organization's Corporate Communications and Publications Department. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will be the driving force behind the organization's content production, editorial quality and digital communication strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the creation of engaging, topical content that establishes the organization's thought leadership.
  • Lead the monthly production of the Singapore Law Gazette: commissioning, reviewing, editing content, and coordinating with the web developer for timely uploads.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all electronic communications to members, including final content editing.
  • Prepare and manage social media content related to the department's publications.
  • Provide support and expertise to other departments for editorial, design and publishing needs.
  • Act as the primary liaison to the Publications Committee, overseeing and executing their projects and duties.
  • Manage and enhance revenue-generating services (careers portal, lawyer directory), ensuring high-quality service delivery to members.
  • Drive improvement in revenue for all paid services.
  • Produce and oversee the preparation of the organization's annual report.
Job Requirements
  • A degree in Law, Communications, or Arts and Social Sciences.
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated experience in a combination of legal practice, legal publishing/editorial, and comprehensive project management.
  • Proven exposure to a corporate or professional environment, including the ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Strong editing, copywriting and proofreading skills.
  • Experience contributing to or managing revenue improvement is a plus.
  • Prior exposure to or skills in digital content management and digital marketing are highly advantageous.
  • Experience within a legal environment (e.g. law firm, legal publisher or regulatory body) is a plus.
  • Must be meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for coordinating with all levels of staff and external partners.
  • Excellent time management and organizational ability to oversee multiple simultaneous projects.
