Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and basic cooking tasks.
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and health codes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook in food preparation activities such as cleaning, cutting, chopping and peeling food ingredients.
• Clean and sanitise the food preparation areas based on hygiene codes and standards.
• Wash, disinfect and store cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Buy, weigh and store ingredients and food supplies.
• Operate a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens.
• Manage inventory, unload supplies and organise the storeroom.
• Maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Develop new menu items while improvising the existing ones.
• Maintain kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget.
