Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Cook with strong knowledge of authentic Thai cuisine to manage daily kitchen operations and prepare high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant’s standards. The ideal candidate is skilled in traditional Thai cooking techniques, ingredients, and presentation, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook authentic Thai dishes (e.g. red and green curries, stir-fries, basil dishes, soups, salads, and sauces) according to recipes and standards
  • Assist Head Chef on food preparation and cooking duties
  • Acquire skills and knowledge from Head Chef on Thai food preparation
  • Develop and maintain consistency in taste, portion, and presentation
  • Ensure freshness and proper storage of ingredients
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards (SFA/NEA compliance)
  • Monitor stock levels, minimize wastage, and assist with inventory control
  • Ensure all food preparation complies with company SOPs and health regulations
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience cooking Thai Food or similar role
  • Possess culinary certification/s or received formal training in Thai cuisine
  • Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments
  • Ability to adapt recipes to local taste preferences without compromising authenticity
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Thai ingredients, spices, and cooking methods
  • Ability to prepare food efficiently during peak hoursFamiliarity with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards
  • Good teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
