Job description
Organization Overview:

Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been providing specialized early intervention services since 2010. We support children aged 2–6 years, of all races and religions, who are diagnosed or suspected of having mild to moderate autism spectrum disorder (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. Referrals come through SG Enable and hospitals, with enrolment based on a screening process. Our aim is to help each child reach their developmental potential through structured intervention and inclusive support.

As Head of Curriculum, you will lead and oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of our early intervention curriculum. You will guide and support teachers to ensure effective delivery aligned with the ECHO framework, and contribute to a holistic learning environment for children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum & Centre Operations

  • Lead curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation aligned with ECHO framework.
  • Supervise, coach, and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Plan, implement, and assess programmes and activities.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations and a safe, conducive learning environment.
  • Coordinate staff schedules, especially during shortages.
  • Support student admissions, including placement and orientation.
  • Organize social activities and outings for students.
  • Cover teaching duties when required.

2. Administration & Reporting

  • Review and approve IEPs (Individualised Education Plans) and Progress Reports.
  • Prepare and submit management reports; take meeting minutes when needed.
  • Maintain children’s records and teaching resources.
  • Check muster reports and attendance.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Parent-Teacher Conferences.
  • Plan and implement on-the-job training for new staff.

3. Compliance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure compliance with NCSS/MSF requirements (SSR, PES, QA & EPES).
  • Uphold ISO standards and organisational policies.
  • Attend management committee meetings.
  • Conduct orientation for new parents and children.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE) or equivalent
  • Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood for Children with Special Needs (SDESN) preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in an early intervention setting
  • Familiarity with the ECHO framework is an advantage
  • Passionate about inclusive education and early intervention
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Proficient in English; Mandarin or other dialects is an added advantage
