Job Title: Assistant Centre Manager

As an Assistant Centre Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in managing the daily operations of our special needs education centre for both Eunos and Woodlands. You’ll be responsible for overseeing staff, coordinating activities, and ensuring that the centre runs smoothly. The position requires collaboration with parents, educators, and external partners to create an enriching environment for our students.

You will ensure that policies, procedures, and programs are effectively implemented and that every child receives the care and education they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
  • Oversee daily operations, including class scheduling, staff deployment, and tracking student attendance (including SCFA scheme support).
  • Coordinate logistics such as student arrivals, pick‑up schedules, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage staff deployment to ensure adequate coverage and support across all programs.
  • Ensure classroom hygiene through regular cleaning, resource preparation, and strict adherence to health and safety standards, creating a safe environment for all.
Stakeholder Management
  • Mentor and support teachers by reviewing lesson plans, conducting evaluations, and refining teaching methods.
  • Ensure that teaching aids and student portfolios are optimised to support individual child development.
  • Liaise with parents to address student progress, academic achievements, and behavioural issues.
  • Ensure that new hires are properly onboarded and that teachers’ performance is reviewed regularly.
Program Coordination
  • Plan workshops, enrichment activities, and holiday programmes, ensuring all preparations are completed and updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Enrollment Management
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase student enrollment, conduct enrollment interviews, and collaborate with the marketing team on outreach and social media content.
Administrative & Support
  • Implement and manage CRM tools for communication and data management.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation such as managing expenses for internal events.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure compliance with organisational policies.
Crisis Management & Conflict Resolution
  • Serve as the first point of contact for resolving any crises, conflicts, or behavioural incidents involving students, staff, or parents.
  • Implement conflict resolution strategies and ensure that incidents are documented and handled professionally.
Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure that the centre adheres to all regulatory requirements, including safety protocols, Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines, and Special Education standards.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on centre activities, student progress, and any compliance audits.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience managing a Student Care Centre, Childcare Centre, or Kindergarten. Senior Teachers with experience in student care environments are welcome to apply.
  • Education: Polytechnic Diploma or higher in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Behavioural intervention training and child protection certification are advantageous.

  • Leadership & Management: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide a diverse team of educators while managing complex operational tasks such as staff scheduling and student attendance.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with parents, staff, and external partners. Ability to address concerns and provide feedback effectively.
  • Attention to Detail & Multitasking: Meticulous and organised, with strong multitasking abilities to manage daily centre operations, event planning, and staff management.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a diverse range of stakeholders, including parents, students, educators, and external partners.
  • Behavioural Management & Emotional Intelligence: Familiarity with behaviour management strategies to support students with special needs. High emotional intelligence to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and care.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) to manage communication, reporting, and documentation. Experience with CRM systems and educational management software.
  • Cultural Competence & Inclusivity: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, ensuring inclusivity and sensitivity in all centre activities.
  • Additional Expertise: Prior experience working with individuals with special needs is highly desirable. Experience with volunteer programme management, community events, and budget handling is beneficial.
