The Assistant Bar Manager is responsible for supporting the Bar Manager in the daily operations of the bar, ensuring smooth service, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and overseeing staff performance.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Bar Operations Support
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the bar to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels of supplies and assist in inventory management.
- Staff Supervision & Training
- Support in supervising bar staff, including scheduling, task assignment, and ensuring staff adhere to service standards.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and training to new team members.
- Assist in monitoring staff performance and reporting issues to the Bar Manager.
- Customer Service
- Ensure customers receive excellent service and handle any customer inquiries or feedback promptly.
- Assist in resolving service-related issues in a professional manner.
- Cash Handling & Reporting
- Support in overseeing cash handling procedures and daily sales reconciliation.
- Ensure that transactions are accurate and follow company policies.
- Beverage Quality & Standards
- Ensure all drinks and beverages are prepared according to company quality standards.
- Assist in implementing new drink menus or promotions as required.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure the bar operates in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Oversee proper maintenance of bar equipment and report any issues.
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate closely with service staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Attend meetings and provide updates on bar performance, staffing, or operational needs.
- Other Duties
- Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by the Bar Manager or Company in line with the position.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a bartender or bar staff preferred
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic knowledge of drinks and bar equipment
