Job summary

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant (Projects) to support financial oversight across multiple projects. This role combines strong accounting expertise with operational flexibility, including site visits, procurement coordination, and technical drawing review. The candidate must have experience in project budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting, along with a valid Class 3 Driving License and proficiency in interpreting CADD drawings for budget analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting

Prepare and manage project budgets in coordination with project managers and engineers.

Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and forecasts.

Support financial planning for new bids and ongoing projects.

Project Accounting & Reporting

Track project costs and revenues to ensure financial accuracy.

Generate timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure proper revenue recognition based on project milestones.

Compliance & Audit Support

Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Support audits by preparing documentation and reconciliations.

Ensure accurate recordkeeping for all project-related transactions.

Material, Tools & Procurement Management

Coordinate procurement of project materials and tools in line with budget allocations.

Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory usage.

Ensure all procurement activities are properly documented and reflected in the accounting system.

Accounting responsibilities include tracking material costs, reconciling procurement invoices, and ensuring budget alignment.

Site Visits & Operational Support

Conduct site visits to verify progress and validate financial data.

Use a Class 3 Driving License to travel between project locations as needed.

Collaborate with site teams to gather cost inputs and resolve discrepancies.

Technical Drawing & CADD Interpretation

Understand and interpret CADD drawings to support accurate budget analysis and cost forecasting.

Analyze technical plans to identify material quantities, labor needs, and potential cost drivers.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure financial tracking aligns with project specifications.

Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure alignment.

Provide financial insights to support project decisions and risk management.

Assist in contract reviews and financial term negotiations.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in construction or engineering
  • Valid Class 3 Driving License (Singapore or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in interpreting CADD drawings (AutoCAD or similar)
  • Experience in procurement and inventory tracking
  • Strong skills in Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities
