Job summary

A global branded travel goods company in Singapore is seeking a Finance professional responsible for comprehensive accounting duties including month-end closing, audit preparation, and treasury functions. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, possess at least 6 years of experience, and have strong proficiency in SAP and Excel. This role offers a dynamic work environment that emphasizes adaptability and teamwork.

Qualifications

Job description
Position Summary

The position holder will be responsible for the full spectrum of finance reporting and accounting responsibilities for Samsonite Brands Private Limited (consisting of a few SAP company codes). The potential candidate will be involved in month-end closing, including preparation of audit schedules, bank reconciliation and ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis. Additional duties include statutory audit/tax, credit and collections, treasury, SOX compliance etc. You will report to the Senior Finance Manager, Asia.

Job Description
  • Responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including inventory management, weekly short-term cash flow planning and AR credit controls
  • Prepare and ensure timely submission of monthly close reports and quarterly reporting packs
  • Responsible for driving month-end close, prepare audit schedules including bank reconciliation, intercompany reconciliation, prepayment, receivables collections, accounts payables etc.
  • Review and post monthly issuance of debit/ credit notes to intercompany and third parties parked by accounts assistant
  • Post invoice receipt invoices parked by accounts assistant
  • Review weekly payments and staffs’ expense reimbursements
  • Communicate with intercompany to resolve intercompany variances
  • Create fixed assets and maintenance of AR customers
  • Review quarterly GST reporting prepared by Senior Executive
  • Support Manager to facilitate statutory audit and tax reporting, involve in information preparation and extraction for internal audit controls and EDB incentive accounting requirements
  • Play an active role and engage in SOX compliance controls
  • Active involvement in ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time
Job Experience & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or professional qualification such as ACCA
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, preferably in an MNC environment
  • SAP knowledge is a MUST
  • Audit and tax experience is preferred
  • Experience in handling full set of accounts independently, multi-tasking and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong team player, resilient, strong sense of accountability and highly adaptable to changes
  • Experience in SOX, Concur and DocuWare is an added advantage
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office Excel functions is required
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
