ASSET MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS

We provide customized service to our clients and enable our business to grow the Asset Management franchise across traditional and alternative products. Our teams execute within a front to back operating model, delivering support across the client, product, and investment lifecycle. We also conduct risk oversight, provide change management, business intelligence, and market solutions for the division.

In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

The Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) business is the investment management arm providing global investment opportunities to a substantial and diversified client base including institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. YOUR IMPACT

The Trade Management team sits within the Investment Operations department of the Asset Management business and has primary responsibility of all aspects of the trade lifecycle activity in Asia. This function covers a wide range of clients and a complex product range, including equities, fixed income, currency, derivatives and alternative investments. This team has extensive interaction with traders, portfolio managers and other operational teams globally to ensure effective oversight and risk management of existing business activity whilst working to shape and implement solutions for new clients, products, strategies, and system architecture.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee trading-related activities - confirmation and settlement processes across diverse markets and complex products, ensuring adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and critical cut-off times. Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve complex settlement issues and exceptions.
  • Provide strategic support to trading desks, addressing complex ad-hoc queries, leading business initiatives, and contributing to the development of new trading strategies and product launches.
  • Initiate, design, and implement significant process improvements, automation initiatives, and control enhancements to drive efficiency, reduce operational risk, and improve scalability within trade management workflows.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with internal stakeholders (trading, portfolio management, global operations, compliance, technology) and external partners (brokers, custodians, vendors), influencing outcomes and driving collaborative solutions.
  • Develop, mentor, and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, risk awareness, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Enhance and enforce the control environment, identifying potential risks, designing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead cross-functional projects related to system enhancements, new product onboarding, and regulatory changes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience in Operations/Middle Office in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience from an operational perspective in one or more of the following products – Equities, Fixed Income, Futures, IRS.
  • Exceptional analytical and complex problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome operational challenges, identify root causes, and propose effective, scalable solutions.
  • Superior verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities effectively, exercise sound judgment under pressure, and lead initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong risk management mindset, with experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks, and a meticulous attention to detail in control design and execution.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships across various internal departments and with external counterparties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Buy side experience.
  • Experience with large scale system implementation, UAT testing, or vendor management for trading or settlement platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements impacting trade operations (e.g., MAS Reporting, T+1 settlement).
