Job summary

Testing Site - JPMC is seeking a Legal Entity Controller (LEC) to oversee accurate financial reporting and regulatory filings for Singapore and Australia Asset Management legal entities. You will enhance efficiency, ensure timely close under US GAAP and local GAAP, and collaborate with global teams to maintain strong controls.

The role covers IFRS/US GAAP knowledge, regulatory reporting, tax, and management reporting, with exposure to cross-border finance processes and audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical review to identify significant balance sheet and income statement variances.
• Participate in monthly general ledger certification and substantiation.
• Collaborate with Regional MIS for FP&A processes and outlook reviews.
• Assist regulatory, tax and management reporting; support audits.
• Prepare meeting materials for location and regional finance meetings.
• Participate in projects affecting Singapore and Australia entities; maintain internal controls.

As a Legal Entity Controller (LEC) within the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely submission of financial reporting and regulatory filings. You will focus on enhancing efficiency, delivering precise financial information, and collaborating with various groups to establish effective controls. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in the analysis of legal entity implications for new business developments and changes in the regulatory framework.

The Asset Management finance team based in Singapore supports the finance functions for asset management business in Singapore, South East Asia and Australia The team is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join us and the candidate can expect a comprehensive role that encompasses financial control, regulatory, tax and management reporting.

Job responsibilities

• Ensure accurate month end close process to complete close of books and records under US GAAP as well as local GAAP for Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities
• Perform analytical review to identify any significant misstatement on Balance Sheet and Income Statement, and liaise with other functions to identify business drivers for significant variances
• Involve in the monthly general ledger certification and substantiation process
• Work closely with the Regional MIS team in HK on financial planning and analysis processes such as monthly Flash vs Actual reporting and reviewing outlook revenue and expenses
• Assist in the regulatory, tax and management reporting.
• Support the annual statutory and tax audits in Singapore and Australia
• Support the preparation of meeting materials for various location management committee meetings and regional finance control meetings
• Participate in working groups for projects and new initiatives impacting the Singapore and Australia Asset Management Legal Entities
• Maintain high level of internal control standards

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• Candidates with a strong foundation, even fresh graduates, in finance are encouraged to apply
• Deep knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US GAAP.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think broadly and connect diverse issues and tasks.
• Effective communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with global counterparts

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in a public accounting firm or a financial institution.
• Proficient user of MS suite of products (e.g. Word, Excel. Powerpoint)
• Knowledge/experience with one or several dash-boarding/automation tools (Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc.)
• Familiarity with Risk-based Capital adequacy requirements for local regulatory reporting related to CMSL license legal entities is a plus
