Job summary

A multinational technology company in Singapore is seeking a legal expert to support its expanding operations in the APAC region. You will negotiate and draft international commercial contracts while collaborating closely with business units. The ideal candidate has a legal practicing certificate and at least 5 years of in-house experience in a relevant sector. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills are essential, along with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years in-house experience in a relevant sector.
  • Experience delivering on complex software or license contracts.
  • Strong preference for experience supporting sales organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and draft international commercial contracts.
  • Provide daily advice and interaction with business units.

To support the business during this growth, and as the number of contracts therefore increases, the CSG legal team needs additional legal support.

The successful candidate would be joining a growing international legal team to assist in the continued expansion of the business across the Asia Pacific (APAC) regions.

Responsibility
  • Negotiation and drafting of international commercial contracts including without limitation master service agreements for delivery of SaaS or on premises license agreements and associated delivery contracts, supply / purchase / distribution / reseller arrangements in line with commercial objectives and targets and associated amendments thereto.
  • Responses to client requests for proposals.
  • Daily advise and interaction with business units (technical and sales) on all legal aspects of project delivery both new and in flight.
  • Escalation of work items as appropriate to regional legal team leads and where needed working in close lockstep with these individuals and liaison with global privacy and compliance team on relevant matters arising in all daily work activities.
  • Review and maintenance of relevant precedent terms and market standard approaches to the deal types prevalent in the international business.
  • This job requires domestic and / or international travel.
  • Advice on employment matters and liaison with HR business partners and external counsel as needed.
Education
  • Must hold current legal practicing certificate or equivalent.
Experience
  • Demonstrable experience of a minimum of 5 years in house in a relevant sector - supporting the sales organization a strong preference
  • Experience navigating and delivering on complex software or license contracts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent drafting and verbal skills in English.
  • Proven track record in face-to-face negotiation in complex IT transactions.
  • A pragmatic and commercial mindset.
  • Proactive and dynamic in all aspects of the role, a true focus on the business and what is needed to help the business succeed in a compliant manner is a must.
  • Building and maintaining constructive working relationships easily.
  • Problem solving skills while demonstrating CSG’s core competencies and values.
