Area Head Barista (Chain Café)

Location: Singapore

Reports to: Head of Operations

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and hands‑on Area Head Barista to oversee the daily operations and coffee quality across up to 5 cafés. This role combines café field management with barista leadership — ensuring every outlet delivers consistent coffee standards, smooth operations, and excellent customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
  • Oversee day‑to‑day café operations and performance across multiple outlets (up to 5 cafés).
  • Prepare, manage, and approve store scheduling, ensuring fair and efficient manpower planning.
  • Step in to cover shifts when needed to maintain service standards and team support.
  • Conduct regular store visits and audits to review hygiene, service flow, and SOP compliance.
  • Support Store Leaders in achieving sales, cost control, and labour efficiency targets.
  • Work at least 2 weekends per month, or as required for store operations or projects.
Coffee & Barista Excellence
  • Lead and train baristas across all assigned cafés to maintain high coffee quality and service consistency.
  • Conduct routine espresso calibration, grinder adjustment, and sensory tasting to ensure consistency.
  • Mentor and develop baristas, identifying potential Coffee Leads and future trainers.
  • Ensure all stores follow brand coffee SOPs, recipes, and drink presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with HQ Coffee and Operations teams on new menu launches and training programs.
  • Oversee coffee equipment maintenance and coordinate with service vendors when needed.
Requirements
  • Diploma or higher in Hospitality, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of café or multi‑store barista leadership experience.
  • Strong technical coffee knowledge — espresso calibration, milk texturing, and recipe development.
  • Hands‑on leader with strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets for scheduling and reporting.
  • Field‑oriented, adaptable, and willing to work weekends or cover store shifts when necessary.
