architects 61 is currently looking for a Architect/ Architectural Assistant to join our office in Singapore.

Founded in 1974, and in our fifth decade of practise, architects 61 has been engaged in some of the most challenging and complex projects in Singapore that encapsulate its aspirations, and in the process, has contributed in shaping the city. Working with architects 61 offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, collaborative and supportive team while working on some interesting and complex projects in Singapore of various scales and scopes.

As a firm, we believe in being involved in projects from start to finish and provide full architectural design and consultancy services through various phases. Some of our ongoing projects include: the new Science Center (in collaboration with Zaha Hadid Architects), Clifford Center (in collaboration with PLP Architecture), W Hotel and Residences Marina View and Changi Terminal 5 (in collaboration with Heatherwick Studio/ KPF). Through these projects, the firm provides a conducive environment for professional learning and growth, including through mentorship and in-house learning, as well as opportunities for its team members to experience and participate actively in various stages of a project, and the opportunity to see through the project through its construction and completion.

Position Summary – Roles & Responsibilities

The Design or Project Architect / Architectural assistant will be part of an in-house project team to work on architectural projects and will carry out the following responsibilities:

  • He/she will be expected to work on and actively contribute to the design and development of architectural projects with opportunity to carry through the project through various phases of the project cycle (from concept design, schematic design, design development, construction).
  • He/she will be expected to coordinate with consultants from various disciplines and clients / stakeholders, and find creative and workable solutions for the project together with the project team.
  • He/she will be working in a dynamic team environment.
  • As Design Architect / Architectural Assistant, he/she will be a part of a team for design competitions or design presentation packages, design development package and tendering.
  • As Project Architect / Architect, he/she will attend and participate in meetings, technical discussions and coordination with contractors/ consultants. He/she will be expected to take minutes and follow-up on project and construction activities as well as to carry out contract administration responsibilities.
You are a good fit for this position if you:
  • Have a 5-year architectural degree that is recognized by the Board of Architects or equivalent.
  • 0-3 years post graduate experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply for this role.
  • Skills in design, CAD and 3D modelling software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, BIM (Revit) and Microsoft Office.
  • Hands-on, possesses initiative and willing to learn, with an open and highly collaborative mindset and approach.
  • Good understanding of local codes/ regulations and contracts is a plus.
