Role Overview: ServiceNow Lead Developer – Agentic AI
We are seeking an experienced and motivated ServiceNow Lead Developer with a strong background in ServiceNow development and a keen interest in Agentic AI capabilities. In this role, you will lead the technical design, development, and delivery of innovative ServiceNow solutions that leverage intelligent automation , predictive intelligence and AI-driven features to enhance business service delivery.
You will guide a team of developers while collaborating with stakeholders to implement scalable solutions across ITSM, ITOM, ITBM, CSM, HRSD and emerging AI-enabled workflows. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and familiarity with evolving ServiceNow AI and automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow applications, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Define and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and secure development protocols.
- Drive adoption of new ServiceNow capabilities, especially Agentic AI and intelligent automation features.
Development & Customization
- Design and develop custom applications, workflows, UI components, and business rules within the ServiceNow platform.
- Implement complex logic using client scripts, business rules, UI policies, Script Includes, and Flow Designer.
- Integrate ServiceNow with third-party applications using REST, SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and MID Servers.
- Explore and implement Agentic AI features (e.g., Virtual Agent enhancements, AI Search, Predictive Intelligence, and Automation Engine).
AI & Automation Enablement
- Design and implement Agentic AI-driven automation for ITSM, ITOM and CSM processes.
- Configure AI Search, recommendation engines, and predictive analytics dashboards.
- Explore Automation Engine for RPA bots, event-driven orchestration, and intelligent task routing.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical designs that align with business goals.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Quality Assurance
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow using Source Control, Jenkins, and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
- Conduct peer code reviews and enforce test-driven development practices.
- Ensure rigorous testing (unit, integration, UAT) for all ServiceNow enhancements.
- Monitor and optimize performance of existing solutions.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and user guides.
- Prepare reports and presentations on development progress and system enhancements.
Mentorship & Training
- Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing team culture.
- Provide training and guidance to end-users and support staff on new or updated ServiceNow features.
Experience
- 7+ years of ServiceNow development and administration experience.
- Proven track record of leading ServiceNow development teams and delivering complex projects.
- Experience implementing or integrating AI-driven capabilities within ServiceNow is highly desirable.
Skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow development tools.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules: ITSM, ITOM, ITBM (APM, PPM), and Platform Capabilities.
- Solid experience with REST/SOAP integrations, JSON/XML, and secure API authentication.
- Exposure to Agentic AI capabilities in ServiceNow (Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence, Automation Engine, etc.).
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Additional certifications (e.g., ITSM Implementation, Integration Hub, Virtual Agent, or AI Specializations) are a plus.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience is an advantage.
