Application Operations Manager (COBOL / Java / AWS – Modernisation Projects)
Location: Singapore
Type: 12 Months Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Application Operations Manager to lead operational readiness and production support for a major application modernisation initiative involving COBOL, Java, and AWS. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and capable of driving operational excellence through structured processes, proactive problem‑solving, and strong stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead application operations and ensure a smooth transition from legacy COBOL systems to modern Java and AWS-based platforms.
• Define, implement, and improve operational processes, including monitoring, alerting, and incident escalation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (BA, Development, Infrastructure) to resolve production issues and ensure system stability.
• Oversee cutover planning, knowledge transfer and service handover to the maintenance team.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, and ITIL standards.
• Establish and monitor SLAs/OLAs to maintain high availability and performance.
• Prepare operational reports and facilitate service delivery reviews with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in application operations, production support, or IT service management.
• Hands‑on expertise in COBOL, Java‑based systems, and AWS services.
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).
• Experience with monitoring tools, system cutovers, and disaster recovery planning.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
