JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Application Engineer

Report to: Application Engineering Manager

Functional Relationships with:

ASEAN-based business development stakeholders, including the Product Engineering, Business Development, and Sales teams, as well as maintain close coordination with the relevant Product Department at the Japan headquarters.

POSITION PROFILE:

Based in: Singapore (regional travel is required)

The successful candidate will: be responsible for pre-sale support to expand ASEAN, India & Oceania business and support local sales for design wins. Regional travel is required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for pre-sales technical support to achieve design wins for immediate opportunities and expand regional business.
• Strengthen troubleshooting and installation strategies by collaborating closely with product engineering teams.
• Conceptualize and provide feasible solutions (PoC included) to customers and internal stakeholders particularly in the IoT/wireless domain.
• Facilitating integration of the products (sensors and wireless communication) into customer products.
• Lead technical innovation projects contributing to enhancing product promotion activities.
• Lead technical topics with 3rd party companies to create joint solutions & corporation scheme for business creation.
• Create, test and verify new application use cases with our products for regional market segments.
• Design and create application based technical marketing ideas and materials for business creation.
• Provide engineering support for emerging business creation projects, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment.
• Conduct in-field product training and engineering services to core customers.

Ability / Competency Required:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering field with 2–3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), electronics component manufacturing, or design service companies are preferred. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Skilled in embedded programming using C/C++ on Linux or embedded operating systems.
• Proficient in system and software debugging on embedded platforms, with experience in using various integrated development environments (IDEs).
• Experienced in developing algorithms for analog sensors and sensors with digital output.
• Familiar with evaluating wireless or sensor devices using standard testing equipment.
• Solid understanding of embedded system boards, including digital and analog circuits, and A/D conversion principles.
• Capable of building rapid prototypes and proof-of-concept models using evaluation kits, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
• Knowledgeable in schematic and PCB design tools, with the ability to assess key device parameters and recommend suitable components for specific applications. Understanding of network communication technologies (i.e TCP/IP, Wireless communication, encryption and etc)
• Experienced in device driver and application development across Linux/Android and Windows platforms, web protocols and cloud architectures.
• Knowledge of server-side programming languages such as PHP and SQL is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and adaptability in challenging work environments.
• Willing to travel across ASEAN, India, and Oceania regions as required.
