Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking an Application Engineer – Power Generation in Singapore to support the application and technical development of power generation solutions across the APAC region. You will work with customers, sales teams, distributors and internal engineering to develop suitable technical solutions for diesel generator and power generation systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, Mechatronics or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in power generation, diesel generator sets, engines, electrical systems or industrial equipment preferred.
• Experience in Application/Project/Technical Engineering roles advantageous.
• Willingness to travel regionally within APAC when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support for power generation and diesel generator systems.
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into suitable technical solutions.
• Review project specifications, technical requirements and system configurations.
• Prepare technical proposals, system designs and supporting documentation.
• Work with sales and commercial teams to provide technical input for tenders and enquiries.
• Support the sizing of generator sets and related power generation equipment.
• Review drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Clarify technical requirements with customers and distributors.
• Provide technical guidance during project execution, installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and investigations for power generation applications.
• Participate in customer meetings and technical presentations.
• Support regional projects across APAC and travel as needed.
• Keep up to date with developments in power generation technology.

Job description

Contract Duration: Till end December 2027
Location: Singapore
Salary: Up to S$7,000 per month + 1-month completion bonus
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Travel: Regional travel within APAC may be required

About the Role

We are looking for an Application Engineer – Power Generation to support the application and technical development of power generation solutions across the region.

You will work closely with customers, sales teams, distributors and internal engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop suitable technical solutions for diesel generator and power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and application support for power generation and diesel generator systems.
• Understand customer requirements and translate them into suitable technical solutions.
• Review project specifications, technical requirements and system configurations.
• Prepare technical proposals, system designs and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with sales and commercial teams to provide technical input for customer enquiries and tenders.
• Support the selection and sizing of generator sets and related power generation equipment.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Liaise with customers and distributors to clarify technical requirements and resolve application-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance during project execution, installation and commissioning where required.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, product and service teams to ensure solutions meet customer and project requirements.
• Support troubleshooting and technical investigations for power generation applications.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical presentations and site discussions.
• Support regional projects and customer engagements across the APAC region, including business travel when required.
• Keep up to date with developments in power generation technology, industry standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Power, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.
• Experience in power generation, diesel generator sets, engines, electrical systems or industrial equipment is preferred.
• Experience in an Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, Project Engineering or Technical Engineering role will be advantageous.
• Good understanding of power generation systems and their applications.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel regionally within APAC when required.
