Job summary

ESPIRE INFOLABS (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to support and enhance our API and microservices in a cloud-native AWS environment.

You will focus on BAU, ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement of backend services. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices with Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x, manage AWS ECS/EC2/RDS, and own CI/CD pipelines with GitLab and Code pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Java backend development.
• Strong Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x expertise.
• Experience building and supporting microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Hands-on with AWS ECS/EC2/RDS.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, CodeCommit, and CodePipeline.
• Strong SQL/Oracle and relational DB knowledge.
• Monitoring/logging with Grafana and CloudWatch.
• 3+ years with Okta for auth.
• 3+ years with MuleSoft for API integrations.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to support and enhance our API and microservices ecosystem in a cloud-native AWS environment. This role focuses on BAU (Business-As-Usual) support, ensuring system stability, performance, and continuous improvement of backend services.
• Provide BAU support for Java-based microservices and APIs, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java (17+) and Spring Boot(3.x)
• Manage and support cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS, EC2, RDS)
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Grafana and CloudWatch
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, AWS Code Commit, and Code Pipeline
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and deploy enhancements
• Support integration with identity and access management systems (Okta)
• Work with MuleSoft for API integrations and middleware support
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, security, and performance optimization
• Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java backend development
• Strong expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x
• Proven experience in building and supporting microservices and REST/Graph QL APIs
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: ECS, EC2, RDS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, AWS Code Commit, and Code Pipeline
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Oracle and relational databases
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana and AWS CloudWatch
• 3+ years of experience with Okta for authentication/authorization
• 3+ years of experience with MuleSoft for API integration
