Role Overview

The APAC Scientific Marketing Director will lead the strategic development and execution of scientific marketing initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. This role ensures alignment with global marketing objectives, drives scientific engagement with key opinion leaders (KOLs), and supports business growth by translating scientific insights into impactful marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement regional scientific marketing strategies aligned with global objectives.

Lead scientific communication initiatives, including congresses, webinars, advisory boards, and publications.

Engage with KOLs, healthcare professionals, and scientific communities to understand trends and unmet needs.

Support product launches and lifecycle management by providing scientific guidance and marketing input.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer support, and Regulatory Affairs.

Oversee regional publication planning and scientific content development.

Design and deliver commercial training programs for internal teams to enhance scientific and product knowledge.

Lead and mentor the Scientific Affairs teams across APAC subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with regional scientific and marketing strategies.

Monitor competitive landscape and scientific advancements to inform marketing strategies.

Ensure all scientific marketing activities comply with local regulations and ethical standards.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, life science or related field
  • Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in IVD industry
  • Proven experience leading regional marketing strategies and KOL engagement in the APAC region
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific data and translate it into marketing strategies
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in a cross-functional, multicultural environment
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in APAC markets
  • Ability to drive collaboration and inspire teams across multiple countries
  • People management: ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams effectively across diverse functions and cultures
