Exciting opportunity to join APAC Resiliency – Strategy, Governance & Controls within the Commercial and Investment Bank, where you get to play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of APAC Resiliency to develop, steer, and influence the approach to plan, prepare, respond, recover, and sustain from disruptions. This dynamic and high-profile position is instrumental in advising senior management on focus resiliency areas to strategically drive operational resiliency outcomes, supporting effective operational risk management. You will have the chance to work with various lines of businesses & functions, spanning Front Office, Operations, Technology, and Corporate Functions at varying levels, including senior management.

As an Executive Director within the APAC Resiliency team, you will lead the execution of the firm's resiliency program for South-East Asia, Australia/New Zealand and China franchise. You will develop and manage resiliency strategies, drive process improvements and re-engineering, and ensure consistent regulatory alignment and response for the Asia. You will collaborate with various business partners, regulatory interaction teams, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to deliver on the strategic program vision. You will also lead a high-performing and cohesive team and manage diverse stakeholders to enhance operational resiliency.

Job responsibilities:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on regulations, resiliency risks, and issues for the covered locations, partnering with businesses to close gaps.
  • Develop cohesive and effective end-to-end partnerships across Front Office, Operations, Technology, and Corporate functions, including Global Security & Investigations.
  • Provide strategic direction to enhance the operational resiliency framework, focusing on ownership and value realization for the firm.
  • Execute the Asia resiliency strategic agenda in close partnership with regional resiliency teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in resiliency knowledge and readiness across businesses in the region.
  • Streamline processes and enhance data quality to support resiliency objectives.
  • Engage with control stakeholders, including 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to ensure robust risk management.
  • Manage resiliency risks proactively, incorporating appropriate mitigations and controls.
  • Establish mechanisms for effective risk and performance measurement through KRIs/KPIs, reporting, and governance.
  • Develop regular management reports and MIS for governance committees.
  • Lead cross line of business ownership and accountability for resiliency activities in the region.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Business Management, Resiliency, or Risk & Controls function, with at least 3 years of experience in leading cross-location teams.
  • Demonstrated governance over process and controls, both over established and required enhancements.
  • Well-versed with resiliency related bank regulations, with knowledge for the locations including SEA, Australia/New Zealand, and China.
  • Proven strong influencing and communication skills with business and functional partners.
  • Strong working knowledge of compliance, audit, risk and operational management concepts.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the impact of policy and procedural changes, as well as identify and convey potential problem areas.
  • Successful track record of delivering results.
  • Demonstrated track record of building effective working relationships with peers, colleagues, and senior management in order collaborate across functions and business silos.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Experience working in a global institution with matrix reporting and global partnerships desired.
