Job summary

Nomura Holdings, Inc. seeks a highly motivated Analyst for the Asia ex-Japan Credit Sales team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates welcome; up to 3 years’ experience in financial markets acceptable.
  • Strong interest in fixed income markets, credit products and macro developments.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Bloomberg preferred; Python knowledge beneficial.
  • Fluency in English; Asian language helpful depending on client coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Credit Sales team in covering institutional clients across Asia ex-Japan.
  • Assist in marketing and execution of fixed income credit products including investment grade and high yield.
  • Monitor credit markets, new issuance activity and macro developments.
  • Prepare market updates, client presentations, trade ideas and sales materials.
  • Coordinate with Trading, Research and Syndicate to deliver market intelligence and execution support.
  • Respond to client enquiries and assist with pricing, trade execution and post-trade follow-up.
  • Develop understanding of client investment objectives and identify opportunities to deepen relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Role Description:

The Asia ex-Japan Credit Sales team partners with institutional investors across the region, providing market insights, investment ideas and execution services across a broad range of credit products, including investment grade, high yield and emerging market debt. Working closely with Trading, Research and Syndicate, the team delivers tailored solutions to asset managers, hedge funds, banks, insurance companies and other institutional clients.

We are looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join our Asia ex-Japan Credit Sales team. This role is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with up to three years of relevant experience who are passionate about financial markets and institutional sales.

The successful candidate will support senior salespeople in servicing institutional clients across the region, preparing trade ideas, monitoring market developments and assisting with trade execution. The role offers broad exposure to Asian credit markets and provides an excellent foundation for a career within Global Markets.

This role can be based in Singapore/Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Credit Sales team in covering institutional clients across Asia ex-Japan, including asset managers, hedge funds, banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
  • Assist in the marketing and execution of fixed income credit products, including investment grade, high yield and emerging market bonds.
  • Monitor credit markets, new issuance activity, macroeconomic developments and issuer-specific news.
  • Prepare market updates, client presentations, trade ideas and sales materials.
  • Coordinate closely with Trading, Research, Syndicate and other Global Markets teams to deliver timely market intelligence and execution support.
  • Respond to client enquiries and assist with pricing, trade execution and post-trade follow-up.
  • Develop an understanding of client investment objectives and identify opportunities to deepen client relationships.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with up to three years of experience in financial markets, Sales & Trading, Research, Asset Management or Investment Banking are also welcome.
  • Strong interest in fixed income markets, credit products and global macroeconomic developments.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Bloomberg is preferred, while knowledge of Python or other programming languages would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in an Asian language would be advantageous depending on client coverage.
