Job summary

CGS International Securities Hong Kong Limited in Singapore is seeking an AML/CFT Compliance Specialist to support day-to-day regulatory adherence in a fast-paced financial services setting.

You will conduct reviews, investigations and red-flag assessments, provide AML advisory support to business units, prepare regulatory submissions, and help track remediation with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Accountancy, Banking, Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline.
  • AML/CFT or compliance-related professional certification would be advantageous.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in AML/CFT, preferably covering CDD/KYC, transaction monitoring, screening, investigations and STR-related work within a financial institution or capital markets intermediary.
  • Working knowledge of MAS AML/CFT requirements, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions/name screening and suspicious transaction reporting requirements.
  • Ability to conduct investigations, assess AML/CFT red flags, document clear review rationale and apply a practical risk-based approach.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate AML/CFT requirements clearly to business and support units.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AML transaction monitoring or screening systems such as NICE Actimize would be advantageous.
  • Meticulous, analytical and hands-on, with sound judgement, integrity and a strong sense of ownership. Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and operate as a collaborative team player in a fast-paced compliance environment.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Conduct AML/CFT reviews, including reviews relating to customer due diligence/know-your-customer, ongoing due diligence, transaction monitoring alerts, watchlist/name-screening alerts and other AML escalations.
  • 2. Perform investigations on suspicious transactions, unusual account activities, adverse media, sanctions/name-screening hits, law enforcement or regulatory requests, and other AML/CFT matters escalated to Compliance.
  • 3. Identify AML/CFT red flags, assess money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions and proliferation financing risks, document review rationale clearly, and recommend escalation or filing of suspicious transaction reports where applicable.
  • 4. Provide practical AML/CFT advisory support to stakeholders on matters such as CDD requirements, enhanced due diligence, source of wealth/source of funds corroboration, high-risk customers, third-party transfers, account restrictions, client retention or exit considerations, and screening outcomes.
  • 5. Support the preparation, filing and post-filing follow-up of suspicious transaction reports, including maintaining appropriate documentation, internal logs and follow-up actions while observing confidentiality and tipping-off requirements.
  • 6. Assist in the preparation of AML/CFT management information, statistics, committee materials, Board or Head Office reports, and updates for senior management or internal governance forums.
  • 7. Support responses to MAS, SGX, law enforcement, internal audit, external audit, Head Office or other regulatory and assurance requests, including coordinating information gathering and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • 8. Assist in monitoring AML/CFT regulatory developments, industry typologies and emerging risks, and support updates to AML/CFT policies, procedures, guidance notes, controls and training materials.
  • 9. Participate in AML/CFT projects, control enhancements, system-related reviews, training initiatives and other compliance tasks assigned from time to time.
  • 10. Perform compliance reviews, thematic reviews, control testing and sample checks on AML/CFT processes, business activities or internal controls, including documenting observations, tracking remediation actions and escalating issues where appropriate.

Role Overview
