Job summary

Misumi South East Asia Pte Ltd is seeking an AI-enabled application developer who will build Python-based internal tools that leverage AI capabilities to improve decision-making and operational efficiency. The role involves deploying and maintaining web apps on Windows Server/IIS or Azure App Service, integrating with REST APIs, and ensuring security and data protection.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience using Python to develop working applications, automation tools or data solutions.
Experience integrating applications with REST APIs and external services.
Working knowledge of SQL, databases and data handling.
Practical experience using AI or machine-learning models through APIs, libraries or cloud services.
Ability to translate a business problem into requirements, solution design, testing criteria and a usable application.
Experience managing delivery from requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment and post-implementation support.
Hands-on experience independently deploying and maintaining production web applications on Windows Server and IIS, or on approved cloud platforms such as Azure App Service.
Working knowledge of application authentication, SSO or Entra ID integration, SSL certificates, access controls, application logging, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving, stakeholder communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Work with business departments to understand problems, processes, user needs, data availability and expected outcomes.
Identify and prioritise suitable AI use cases across customer service, sales, operations, finance, human resources and other functions.
Design and develop Python-based internal applications that use AI capabilities such as optical character recognition, document intelligence and natural language processing to read documents, answer questions, analyse information, classify content and automate work.
Adapt and localise AI applications developed by other Misumi Group companies for local use, including reviewing source code and architecture, reconfiguring for local data, languages, systems and business processes, and ensuring compliance with local data-protection and security requirements.
Independently deploy, configure, maintain and troubleshoot internal web applications on Windows Server, IIS or approved cloud platforms such as Azure App Service, including authentication and SSO integration, SSL certificate management, access controls, application monitoring, backup and recovery coordination, and technical documentation.
Integrate AI capabilities into new and existing business applications, such as LLMs, document intelligence, classification and search, through APIs and SDKs, including prompt design, output validation and fallback handling.
Develop customer voice and sentiment-analysis solutions that help departments identify customer satisfaction, frustration, recurring concerns and service trends.
Build and maintain supporting application components, including APIs, databases, user interfaces, access controls and workflow integrations.
Create prototypes, conduct user testing and convert approved solutions into stable applications for day-to-day business use.
Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain applications, and prepare technical documentation, user guides and support procedures.
