Job summary
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant/Associate to study how machine learning models and neural circuits process states of emotion.
You will analyze high‑dimensional brain data, develop ML methods, and contribute to publications and grants in a multidisciplinary neuroscience and AI lab led by Aditya Nair.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, neuroscience, computational biology, psychology, or life sciences.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab.
- Experience with analyzing large-scale neural data desirable.
- Proficiency in DL/vision/UI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, PyQt, Gradio).
- Strong numeric and analytical background.
- Knowledge of information visualization; Illustrator is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Entry level candidates welcome.
Responsibilities
- Analyze high-dimensional brain data and document results.
- Develop ML and CV methods for high-throughput video data analysis.
- Apply data-driven dynamical system modeling tools.
- Maintain specialized lab software repositories.
- Contribute to grant applications and conference presentations; draft publications.
- Attend weekly lab meetings and journal clubs.
