Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in bioethics, philosophy, law, sociology, anthropology or closely related field.
• Deep knowledge and experience in using AI, particularly large language models in academic research.
• Strong international profile in bioethics, AI ethics or technology governance.
• Sustained record of high-quality publications appropriate to appointment at Associate Professor level.
• Expertise spanning ethics, law, healthcare, human rights, policy and technology.
• Experience in undergraduate, postgraduate, executive or professional education.
• Ability to communicate complex interdisciplinary issues clearly to academic, professional and public audiences.
• Evidence of successful collaboration across disciplines, institutions and countries.
• Potential to attract competitive grants and build major research partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop an internationally impactful programme in AI ethics and bioethics.
• Conduct and translate research on generative AI, LLMs, digital health and technology governance.
• Contribute to policy development and responsible AI implementation.
• Publish influential scholarly and practice-oriented work.
• Develop interdisciplinary collaborations and competitive grant proposals.
• Teach in postgraduate and professional programmes, including ethics of AI and health tech.
• Supervise postgraduate research students.
• Support curriculum development and AI literacy in education and scholarship.
• Contribute to the Centre’s public engagement and international profile.
