Job summary

MINDEF is seeking a data science/AI engineer to lead projects across policy, operations, and resource management. You will work within the central AI team to co-create AI solutions and promote responsible AI adoption while building capability through knowledge sharing.

You will design, develop, and deploy AI solutions, translate insights into actionable recommendations, and communicate results to senior decision-makers. Collaboration with diverse business partners across MINDEF/SAF is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1+ year in data science, AI, or AI engineering preferred.
• Experience with LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, and MLOps on cloud platforms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead data science and AI projects through full lifecycle from conception to deployment.
• Develop and deploy AI solutions translating insights into actions.
• Collaborate with business partners to identify use cases and build proofs-of-concept.
• Document methods, parameters, and validation steps for governance and knowledge sharing.
